You don’t run a node for the profit. You run it for the benefit of having your own copy of the blockchain, and owning your own sats on Lightning. The routing fees you earn are not going to make back the initial hardware costs, and you have to be prepared to fund your channels with enough sats to make it useful. There are many benefits to running a node, but it’s not going to provide you with an income stream unless you’re intending on running it as a business, which has major startup costs.
